Youth Riding Lessons in Omaha, NE

Why Riders Start Here

At Ashley Mason Equestrian (AME), we offer a structured, horsemanship-first riding program for youth riders, adult riders, and families. Our lessons start at 4 years old with our Tiny Rider Program!

How Our Program Works

All lessons are built around the Levels of Horsemastership, a 10-Level curriculum hand-created by our founder and Program Director, Ashley Mason. Similar to karate belt levels, this system provides clear, measurable benchmarks across Riding, Knowledge, Horsemanship, Tack and Tacking, and Stable Management.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

New riders start with a barn tour so we can place you in the right lesson track and horse.

Each lesson includes hands-on horsemanship, quality school horses, and professional instruction within a supportive barn environment. Riders may also have opportunities to participate in group horsemanship classes, clinics, and community learning experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, our school horses are available for lessons. Approved riders can also lease for extra saddle time. Availability is limited, so ask your coach about current openings and requirements.

What to wear

An ASTM/SEI-certified riding helmet, boots with a small heel, and long pants (breeches, jods, snug jeans or leggings). Tops should be fitted, and long hair tied back. If you don't have a helmet yet, ask about short-term loaners.
